Bluecube, in collaboration with ITS Technology Group and Eclipse Wholesale, has successfully completed a significant project to deliver ultrafast broadband and managed Wi-Fi to student accommodation properties in Lincoln. This project, which commenced earlier this year and concluded in August, has provided hundreds of University of Lincoln students with access to ultrafast speeds, ensuring they have the connectivity required for their studies.
APS Property Group Limited, operating as APS Student, has been providing student accommodation in the city for more than 20 years. Bluecube were instructed by APS to explore faster connectivity options for their properties and the students using them.
The deal, which was brokered last year by Bluecube Sales Director Jack Waby, has seen the team deliver 1 Gbps symmetric fibre broadband and remotely managed Wi-Fi to over 60 properties in the city. The infrastructure provides ultrafast connectivity to University of Lincoln students for a minimum period of five years and improves the students access to high speed, reliable internet access.
“We worked with ITS Technology Group to extend their >10 Gbps fibre network to the areas where APS had properties within the city. These properties are all within the West End area of Lincoln, which is popular with students from the university” explained Jack Waby. “Slow broadband speeds were a problem in this area and the project addressed and solved that issue” he added.
He also highlighted the challenges and successes of the project, noting the additional labour hours required to meet the client’s expectations. “It’s been a learning curve for both the client and Bluecube. We’ve delivered exactly what our client asked for, giving them an edge against their competitors and contributing to further revenue and team growth at Bluecube.”
Furthermore, Bluecube’s technical support team will now manage the full fibre connectivity and Wi-Fi networks across all APS Student properties. “The occupants can contact our support team via live chat, phone, or email to report issues or queries, allowing us to resolve them directly and quickly without involving the APS Student team,” Waby said.
