Bluecube Cloud Services Limited has recently announced the acquisition of Techbox Managed IT Services Limited. Our latest announcement is part of Bluecube’s business growth strategy as it continues to evolve from a communications provider to MSP (managed service provider), offering a complete portfolio of technology solutions including managed IT services and support.
Bluecube was founded 15 years ago, initially to provide mobile phone services for business, as well as other communication solutions such as broadband and telephony. The communications side of the business evolved and for more than a decade Bluecube became a leading provider of hosted telephony, unified communications, mobile and internet connectivity services. Last year we announced our entry into the IT sector and the acquisition of Techbox Managed IT Services in March 2024 adds further momentum to this growth strategy.
In a statement relating to the acquisition, our Managing Director Paul Reames said:
We are thrilled to welcome the Techbox team and a diverse base of business and education sector clients to add to our growing customer base. The merging of the Techbox and Bluecube skill sets demonstrates our commitment to bringing further new talent into the business as we strive to become a leading MSP.
Techbox was founded in 2018 by Andy Fellows, who becomes Head of IT Services at Bluecube as part of the acquisition deal. Andy and his team have more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry supporting clients in both the education and SMB sectors. Following the acquisition, Bluecube now manages the IT and communication services for hundreds of UK organisations with a growing number of educational institutions amongst that number.
The company issued the following statement about the acquisition which took effect on 1st March 2024:
The senior management team at Bluecube is delighted to announce the acquisition of Techbox Managed IT Services Limited as part of the company’s wider strategy to become the leading MSP within our home region [the East Midlands]. Customer feedback and ongoing market research told us that our clients wanted a single technology partner that could guide them to the best technology services at the best prices and provide a single support function for those services. The business has responded and we believe that this acquisition is a significant step forward as we work towards our business objectives.
As part of the acquisition Bluecube has taken new and larger offices in Lincoln to make room for the new team. The new company offices in the Cathedral Quarter of Lincoln offer room for further growth as the company continues on its growth journey.
