A quarter of the year has flown by and if the first three months are anything to go by 2015 is shaping up to be possibly on of the most important in our history.
We’re going to start (and I’m sure you’ll agree) with a little bit of ‘own trumpet bowing’. March saw the 2015 Lincolnshire Digital Awards, for which we are incredibly proud of our products and services to be nominated twice. Looking at the categories and the entries, we quickly realised that we were holding very good company and were nominated against some very worthy brands, services and products.
Over 160 people attended the awards ceremony held at Doubletree by Hilton in Lincoln on March 10th, which saw eight awards handed out in celebrations of digital achievements.
A fun-filled night was had by all as guest speaker and TV personality Jason Bradbury made an unforgettable entrance, beaming himself into a robot on stage to welcome everyone to the event. He then smoothly glided to the front of the room on a Hovertrax hands free hover board.
The first of our nominations was for ‘Best Use of Mobile Technology’ – The nominations were read out, with brief product overviews… Rather quickly, the ‘We’re just happy to be nominated’ changes to thinking, ‘read our name out, read our name out’ as we we all waiting for the winner to be announced. “And the winner is… Bluecube Telecommunications!” The table wine sure tasted a lot sweeter after hearing that.
Still a little bit drunk on the success of our first award (maybe the wine as well), we came to the final award of the evening, ‘Digital Business of the Year’. Now, this one we were just happy to be nominated in, didn’t stop us wanting to win it however… Before the nominees were read out, our M.C. for the evening had told us, that for the judges, this had been by far the most difficult to decide on a clear winner. Well I shan’t keep you in as much suspense as we were in, but Bluecube came runners up to very worthy winners, Artsgraphica.
So, that’s the start of the year – and we’re showing no signs of slowing!
